(January 11, 2011) The library will be closed on Monday, January 17 as a furlough day without pay for all library staff. This closed day is the first of five furlough days all staff will take in 2011 as part of the library's measures to reduce spending in expectation of receiving this year no more from the State of Ohio than the reduced funding received in 2010. No library materials are due on days the library is closed.
(January 5, 2011) Ambitious and organized library patrons have asked when the new tax forms will arrive. The library has ordered its usual assortment of federal and state forms for free distribution here in the building. A recent e-mail from the Tax Form Outlet Program informed us that the 1040 and 1040A forms and instructions were not sent for printing until
(December 20, 2010) The library will be closed December 24 through 27 for the Christmas holiday, and then again from December 31 through January 2. The library will be open its usual hours from December 27-30. No library materials are due on any day that the library is closed. (December 4, 2010) The library's hat and mitten tree is all decked out for the holidays. Help your neighbors keep warm this winter by donating new, or newly made, hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves, and adding them to the hat and mitten tree in the library's Youth Services Department. All donations will be given to the Minerva Salvation Army for local distribution.
(December 3, 2010) Looking for some local entertainment to get you in the holiday mood? Head over to the library this Tuesday, December 7, at 6:30 for the Merry Music Family Holiday Special. The Youth Services staff are pulling out all the stops with holiday stories and music for the whole family. (December 3, 2010) Thanks to everyone who took advantage of the food for fines drive. We gathered over 270 cans, boxes, and bags of non-perishable food items for the Minerva Salvation Army food bank. You paid off some outstanding fines and fees and helped your neighbors at the same time.
(November 19, 2010) The library closes at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 24, and will remain closed until Monday, November 29 at 10:00 am. No library materials are due on any day the library is closed. November 26 and 27 are furlough days without pay for all library staff; these are the last of the 2010 staff furlough days that the library has imposed as a cost-saving measure. The library Board of Trustees and library staff wish all of you a pleasant and safe Thanksgiving.
(November 15, 2010) Beginning today through Wednesday, November 24, the library is accepting donations of non-perishable food items in exhange for overdue fines that you may have accumulated. All food collected will be given to the Minerva Salvation Army for distribution to local food pantries. The rate of exhange is one can of soup, boxed prepared meal, bag of rice, etc. for $1 in fines. We will gratefully accept any additional food donations to aid the local pantries.

(November 7, 2010) Thanks to everyone who shopped at the library's fall book sale during the past week. You found many interesting things to purchase and raised just over $1000 for the library to use for the purchase of new materials for you to check out and enjoy. A special thanks to the many generous library patrons who donated books, CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes for this book sale, you contributions ensured that eager shoppers found many different things to choose from.
