Library Book Sale This Week

(October 15, 2012)   The Minerva Public Library fall book sale runs all this week.  There are many books for sale for ages and interests, as well as audiobooks, DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, and this fall, a collection of vintage 78's and LP's.  New items are added to the sale every day, so plan to visit more than once.  On Saturday, October 20, the final day of the sale, you may buy a grocery bag full of the remaining items for only $1.00.  All proceeds from the sale are used to purchase new materials this year for you to check out and enjoy.

Library Closed Monday

(October 4, 2012) A reminder that the library will be closed Monday, October 8 as a day of unpaid leave for all library staff.  This is the third mandatory furlough day this year imposed by the library Administration and Trustees as a cost-saving measure.  No library materials are due on any day that the library is closed.

Book Sale Starts Wednesday

(June 18, 2012)  To celebrate the Minerva Homecoming, the library is holding its summer lightening book sale.  Four days only to choose from books for all ages and interests at attractive prices.   Proceeds support library programs and the purchase of new library materials for you to check out and enjoy.

New Catalog Installed

(June 8, 2012)  As of this afternoon the new SEO library catalog is up and running.  There will be the occasional hiccup over the next few days as consortium staff adjust settings and fix surprise problems, but we are back to checking library materials in and out, placing holds, sending and receiving items in delivery, and searching the catalog.  Please take a look at the new library catalog and give it a try.  Your account is again available to you, and we hope that you'll enjoy the new catalog search features.  Thank you for your patience during the switch.

New Catalog Under Construction

(May 31, 2012) The library is moving to a new online catalog over the next week along with the other 78 libraries that are members of the SEO library consortium.   It's a big project to move the records for over 6.7 million items and over 700,000 library patrons from one system to another, and there will be some limits to our services during the next few days.

  • The library will be open its usual hours, and we will be able to check out library materials to you.  Internet access in the library will not be affected by this project.
  • However, we can not check in things you might return between June 3 and June 7.  Nothing is due from June 3-10 so we ask that you give the library materials an extended vacation at your house and not return them until they are due.
  • The online catalog will not be available from June 1-7 either at home or in the library.  During this time, you will not be able to place holds on library materials.
  • However, library staff will be able to look up items for you and we will keep a list of holds on paper to enter in the catalog as soon as we can.

Thanks for your patience during  this transition.
