Astronomy Afternoon @ the Library

(February 6, 2012) Join us this Saturday, February 11,  for an afternoon of astronomy excitement.  At 2:30, Dr. Judith VanZante from the NASA Glenn Research Center will give a virtual tour of the Icing Research Tunnel, one of the largest icing facilities in the world, and a place most of us will never see in person.  At 3:30 join Joann Ballbach from the Wilderness Center to discover 

Astronomy Evening @ Your Library

(March 12, 2012)  March is a great month for stargazing so stop by the library on Tuesday, March 20 for a couple of interesting and entertaining programs. At 7:00 pm, Joann Ballbach, from the Wilderness Center in Wilmot will talk about “Things You Know about Astronomy that just Aren’t So.” Children and adults will enjoy this fascinating and fun look at common astronomy “myth-conceptions” Weather permitting, the friendly folks from the Wilderness Center Astronomy Club will set up their big telescopes so we can all enjoy a great view of the five planets visible in the evening sky this month. The viewing starts around 8:00 pm and everyone will have a good chance to take a look.

Library Accepting Book Sale Donations

(March 13, 2012)  The library's spring book sale begins March 31, and the library is now accepting donations of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and audiobooks.  If you have a large number of items to donate, please give us a call first so we can make room.  Proceeds from the book sale support library programs and the purchase of new materials this year for you to check out and enjoy. 

Spring Book Sale Begins Saturday

(March 28, 2012)  The library's spring book sale opens this Saturday, March 31, at 10:00 am and continues through the coming week.  Books for ages and interests are sold at reasonable prices to benefit the library's program and materials budgets.   New items are added to the sale each day, so it pays to stop by several times.  On Saturday, April 7, the popular $1 a bag sale will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Donations are always welcome. 

Book Sale Success

A big thank you to everyone who shopped at the library's Spring Book Sale.The sale took in $923.25 to support library programs and the purchase of new library materials this year for you to check out and enjoy.  The next book sale will take place in June during Minerva's Homecoming celebration.
