Meet Local Author Dawn Dagger

Dawn Dagger is a young adult, aspiring author who refuses to be held back from her dream. Dawn loves cats, coffee, and most importantly, books. She loves the way they make her feel, and loves to write to make others feel and give them hope. She is a multi-placing and state qualifier in both Power of the Pen and PenOhio compeitions, and has one self published novella, "My British Bear", with many to follow. Dawn will talk about her writing process at 11:00 pm and Noon, and will chat with interested readers in between.

This hands-on learning spot contains activities that stimulate the senses to develop language and motor skills. Available activities, which change with the seasons, may include a light table, magnetic board with gears and tubes, magnetic Picasso tiles, scented play-doh, puzzles, rice/bean sensory bins, and more!

All ages are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The Sensory SPOT is open this September-May on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 AM–Noon, and on Saturdays by request.

Interested in easy crafts from natural products?  Crafty Thursday is the place to be!  Ann Myers, local crafter, will present  interesting demonstrations and a hands-on project,   Learn how to make salves from common plants and herb-infused oils.  Everyone gets to make their own beeswax  lip balm to take home, along with recipes, supply lists, and list of sources so you make salves, oils, and lip balms on our own as well.  There is no charge for this evening of crafty fun, but you should register in advance by calling the library at 330-868-4101.

Stock up on new puzzles at the Minerva Public Library fall Puzzle Exchange all day on Saturday, November 16.  Bring in the puzzles you’ve already done and swap them for some that are new to you.  Puzzles for adults and puzzles for kids; puzzles with 100 pieces or puzzles with 1000 or more—bring in all kinds of puzzles to share with other jigsaw enthusiasts.

Ever think you might write a novel?  Kathleen Horn dreamed of being an author since her early teens, but she had to wait until she was a grandmother to see her first book published.  Find out how she did it when this new local author visits Minerva Public Library on Saturday, November 23 from 11:00-1:00. Kathleen’s new book, The Everlasting Kind is finally available for purchase at Off the Beaten Path in Minerva, Paperworks in Carrollton, and on Amazon.  You can meet the author and, if you like, purchase a signed copy of her book, during her visit to the library
