(January 22, 2013) Join us this Monday evening, January 28, at 7:00 pm to hear author Glenn Downing discuss his well-traveled life, and his new book Global Warring and the Land of Zinj. Mr. Downing was born in Kenya in 1935 the son of American missionaries. His book tells the story of this family navigating through four World Wars and the great
socio-economic-political developments during the twentieth century. He was a Marine Corp fighter pilot during the Cold War, including service in Vietnam. Later he was corporate pilot for an oil contractor in the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the present Islamofascist movement, which he calls World War IV. He concluded his forty year flying career as a pilot with US Airways. His wife “Tweet” worked closely with him publishing this book; they have been married for 48 years, and have a son, two daughters, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Downing will recount stories from his interesting life and copies of his book will be available to purchase.
